A wonderful week My husband and I just spent a week in Old San Juan and were quite pleased and content with our decision to stay at the CasaBlanca Hotel as our base for exploring historic sites as well as local breweries & pubs. Hot afternoons were spent in the super fun and relaxing rooftop tubs--who would have thought? The chandeliers and artful decor took me to my happy place every time we walked through the lobby. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff always helpful and welcoming.

Right in the historic downtown area of San Juan. Friendly staff. Nice lobby and roof deck with cool views. Clean room but a little run down which is why I’m only giving 4 stars. Would have been nice if the windows had opened.
The entire hotel including the room was nicely decorated!
I’d stay here again when in San JuanRick Lanza1/20/2022 -
Great location and such a comfortable stay We really enjoyed this hotel. It was clean and comfortable and in a great location. The tubs upstairs were fun and relaxing. The hotel staff was nice and welcoming. One tip, it would be nice to have water available to the guests, especially the first night.
Veronica C1/20/2022 - Loved the Decor and Casablanca Style. Lots of Iconic images. Beautiful Entrance. Super Front Desk service. I loved my time here. Cool Lobby area to hang out. Right in the Middle of Old San Juan. Easy access to Restaurants. Nice place to walk and enjoy life. Fun shopping area. A little of everything to see and do. Great place to spend vacation time.H Miller1/03/2022

I discovered the Casa Blanca 6 years ago when searching on line for a nice place to stay in Old San Juan at the end of an 11 day cruise. The Casa Blanca has become one of our fondest memories. So much so that it motivated us to book another cruise from San Juan this March and I just finished making reservations for stays before and after the sailing.
Regarding some of the negative comments:
1. Parking: Don't bring a car. I don't rent a car when I stay in Manhattan either. 2. Elevator: There was no elevator the first time I stayed there. It took 2 years to build it into this very old building. Given the infrastructure and hurricane issues on the island, my expectations of reliability are discounted. Consider what the staff and general population have had to deal with having COVID follow Hurricane Maria. read lessPete J.10/21/2021 - The Casa Blanca Hotel is a great little boutique hotel in the heart of San Juan. I have come here twice now and each time I have had a great stay. The staff is extremely attentive and accommodating, and the premises are beautiful. There are 4 tubs on the rooftop deck overlooking the city, and they were kept extremely clean. Our balcony room was great, and the beds were extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend to couples and families alike .Veronica Ruiz Rivera10/11/2021

Old San Juan Charm The Casa Blanca Hotel is a charming historic hotel in a prime location in Old San Juan, close to restaurants and within walking distance of almost all of Old San Juan's landmarks and historic sites, as well as the port. The lobby decore (please see photos) is captivating, including a gorgeous chandelier and other fascinating accent pieces. My 5th floor room was cozy and charming as well, bordered by a walkway that allowed views of the historic streets. There was also a comfortable seating area, right outside my bedroom door, to relax and have coffee.

This hotel has very pretty decor and is located in the city center. Parking is incredibly difficult and although we were told parking would be included and free, it is not. We were told to park in a garage and I wish we had been told it was the yellow one, not the red one, as we ended up paying an additional $10 being in the wrong garage. The rooftop is charming and the breakfast is good, but the rooms have no windows (or our room at least) which was disorienting. 2nd visit didn't disappoint! Having been to CasaBlanca about 5 years ago, we were very excited to return. And if we ever find ourselves in San Juan again, we'll go back again. Positives: + Service: I love the front desk staff here. They seem to actually like visitors and like working with each other. They're super helpful and seem unrushed. + Early Check-In/Late Check-Out: Maybe I was just lucky with check-in, but I was thrilled to be able to check into my room early. And I paid in advance ($25) to be able to check-out late. I appreciated having the options. + Elevator:... read moreHaving been to CasaBlanca about 5 years ago, we were very excited to return. Mixed Review:
~: Having a balcony over the busy Calle Forteleza means you get to sip your coffee looking down on the bustle. It also means you may want earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
~: The art's a little funky. One of the in-room artworks was a little edgy for having looming above beds.
Negatives:
-: Slow Wifi: It's ok for downloading stuff, but don't plan to stream anything.
As a point of comparison, we spent a few nights at El Convento on this trip, and I really regretted not spending the whole time at CasaBlanca Hotel. Walking distance to both Castillo Cristobal and the other. Not really any parking unless you park on the street. Semi private jacuzzi on the rooftop and sitting/smoking area. The decor is beautiful. Price is reasonable. Customer service is good. You need a negative CoVid test or vaccine to enter.Elizabeth P8/31/2021

Perfect place to stay while in OSJ! Friendly front desk, beautiful lobby and super clean, cozy and comfortable room! And 10/10 for the location. A perfect central spot to stay while exploring Old San Juan!
They will hold your luggage after check out which worked pretty well for us. Highly recommend this hotel!Maingi_Sumanyu6/14/2021 - Hotel CasaBlanca was incredible and made our stay more than we could’ve imagined. - Loved the hotel....loved the roof tops...the north side is taller so you get a really nice view of San Juan...it offers the sun bath deck...with the oversize bathtubs..and lounging areas....New south side offers 3 hot tubs and lounging area. Loved being at walking distance to Restaurants, Stores. Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilitiesVerified traveler5/31/2021

I would stay again! This is a very quaint hotel in an excellent location with great service. Is it the fanciest? No. It's a very good price for the quality, though. I love the decor and atmosphere. The front desk staff could teach a class on excellent customer service. The rooftop is a fun hangout. The location can't be beat!

From the moment we arrived, we knew we had booked at a quality establishment. I would have preferred to have had parking at the hotel, but to be fair, I don't know if any of the hotels offer that. Beyond that our stay was pretty much perfect.

I dropped my wife off to get us checked in and find out about parking. She had me circle back around and waited outside with the guy that was checking us in. He directed me to park in the alley so we could unload. He took all of our stuff in and got us squared away while we took off and went to explore some more.
When we came back, he remembered our names, asked us how we were doing, recommended places to eat close by, and just made us feel welcome. Gave us the full rundown of the hotel and the two elevators and the areas they service. Told us how to get to the roof top balcony, etc. The staff were all friendly and eager to help with anything we needed. They offered towels for taking to the beach as well.
With COVID protocols in place, they didn't offer cleaning services (not many hotels do), but you could get restocked on anything you needed at the front desk.
Check out was easy and there were no hidden fees. We were really pleased with our selection to stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back here if we decided to stay in Old San Juan again. read lessRob S.5/20/2021 -
Perfect central location for OSJ CasaBlanca hotel offers outstanding service and communication, a fantastic central location to be fully immersed in Old San Juan culture, nice clean rooms, and a fabulous rooftop hangout. The only downside of our experience was the shower being in the bedroom without a fan made for a very humid room. Overall great value and would stay again.

I LOVED THIS HOTEL..... its quaint, clean, well appointed, perfect area and incredible staff. The rooms have a lovely old world charm but are not old, the decor is fun and interesting and the staff is warm and helpful even when you have left you mind (and ID) behind! Honestly if I work at it the only constructive criticism I can come up with is a lame request for better coffee service. I live in in PR and often spend random nights in San Juan, this is my new favorite over El Convento and the Condado hotels.

Great, Unique Hotel Capturing the Spirit of Old San Juan From the unique decor (reflecting the Moroccan influence Spanish architecture), the comfortable rooms, and the staff which is unusually helpful (especially for Puerto Rico) - this was a great find. The location is perfect, next to to best restaurants in Old San Juan, and the rooftop terrace and baths are one of a kind. Will definitely be back!
